Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust has stood by the journalists of Chandpur as well as the whole country during the Corona period. The trust has provided grants to journalists in Chandpur on Thursday.
This is the grant promised by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as an incentive for journalists in the Corona pandemic.
A total of 96 journalists have been given grants of Tk 10,000 in two phases. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni MP distributed in the first phase.
In the second phase, former President of National Press Club Muhammad Shafiqur Rahman was present as the chief guest
Special guests were Zafar Wazed, director general, Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and Monirul Islam Kabir, deputy director (Finance and Administration), PIB.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdullah Al Mahmud Zaman presided over the function.
Giasuddin Milon, acting president of the Press Club delivered the welcome speech. Former president of the club Kazi Shahadat spoke on behalf of the journalists. General Secretary AHM Ahsan Ullah conducted the programme.
