PM asks to prepare list of Ministers, MPs who are not standing by people

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the president of ruling Bangladesh Awami League, reportedly has asked to prepare a list of those ministers and lawmakers of the party who are not standing by the people of their own constituencies or localities at the prevailing circumstance, said sources in top level of the government as also the policy making level of ruling Awami League.

The directives came following allegations that a large number of ministers, lawmakers, including from ruling Awami League, are not standing by the people, rather they have gone hiding at the critical time leaving people in danger. Earlier, the Prime Minister, also the eldest daughter of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, had aske all the ministers, lawmakers, elected representatives and also the party leaders and activists to remain stand by the people of the country.

She made the directives considering immediate after the situation worsen due to the coronavirus outbreak across the country and also worldwide. It should be mentioned that the coronavirus outbreak so far killed more than 22,000 people and left several lakhs others infected across the world.

In Bangladesh, so far at least five people died and around 50 others were infected by the virus while several hundred others have gone into quarantine. Considering the situation, the Bangladesh government have taken multi-faced measures to fight the situation under the leadership of PM Sheikh Hasina. She also had delivered a speech to the nation.

According to sources, many of the ministers, MPs and representatives are helping people alongside the government personnel. But, the sources in the high level of ruling Awami League said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina got angry with the allegations from various sources and levels that a large number of ministers, ruling party lawmakers and other elected representatives are not playing their roles.
