Pet hospital will bring innovation in pet care, research: Dipu Moni

The foundation stone of the 9-storied building of Teaching and Training Pet Hospital and Research Center has been laid in Purbachal New Town, Dhaka under Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU).  Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni was present as the chief guest and laid the foundation stone of the research center building on Thursday.

  The foundation stone laying ceremony held at the Teaching, Training Pet Hospital and Research Center was presided over by Ekushey Medalist CVASU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Gautam Buddha Das.  University Treasurer Professor Dr Kamal delivered the welcome speech.  Deans of various faculties of the university, directors of institutes, heads of departments, directors of various departments, teachers, officers and employees were present on the occasion.

  Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, 'Bangladesh is moving forward at an unstoppable speed under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.  There is no sector of the country which has not been touched by development.  The development of Bangladesh is visible in all areas today.  Bangladesh will debut on the world map as a developed country by the year 2041 under the leadership of Bangabandhu's daughter Deshratna Sheikh Hasina.

 He said, as a part of the government's development activities in all sectors, CVASU Dhaka's teaching, training pet hospital and research center is being converted into a 9-storey building.  This is undoubtedly a very happy news for veterinary students and pet owners.

 The education minister said, "This multi-storied building will have all kinds of modern facilities for providing medical services to pets.  There will be Medicine Unit, Surgery Unit, Gynecology and Obstetrics Unit, Orthopedics Unit, Radiology and Imaging Unit and Vaccination Unit etc.  I strongly believe that after the completion of the building of this hospital and research center, the scope of activities and animal services will be expanded more widely.

 Its mentioned that this "Teaching, Training Pet Hospital and Research Center" was established in 2018 on 22 khata of land in the east of Dhaka under the initiative of CVASU to train veterinary students of the university as skilled graduates of international standards.  This hospital and research center continues to play an active role in uplifting and uplifting the veterinary profession.
