PBI recovers arms of a retired army officer after six years

Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Saturday recovered a licensed fire weapon which was stolen from a retired army officer's house in Bhashantek area of Mirpur in the capital, after four years.

A team of PBI Dhaka Metro on Saturday arrested Tarek Hawladar ,21, hailing  from Gournadi Upazila of Barisal. PBI also recovered the stolen foreign weapon from his possession.

Jahangir Alam, Special Superintendent of PBI disclosed the information at a press conference at PBI Dhaka Metro North officein  the capital on Sunday.

He said that on September 17 in 2019, Samshul Huda, the former army officer  closed his flat and went to his chamber in Gulshan Lab Aid Hospital.

After returning to his home, he found his flat locked from inside. Later he saw the grill of the window was cut behind the flat. Later, the driver of the army officer entered the room through the  grill and opened the door.

After entering the house, he found his flat ransacked. He also  found that valuables including his licensed fire arms from the flat were stolen. 

PBI officer Jahangir Alam also said the army officers had filed  cases in this connection. The case was initially investigated by the local police.  Later the case was shift to the PBI.

We arrested Tarek Howladar on Saturday  night. Later, based on the information given by him, stolen foreign weapons were recovered from his house, he added.
