Seven people were killed as a bus hit an easy-bike in Magurmari area in Tentulia upazila of the district this afternoon, reports BSS. The victims were identified as Nurima Begum ,57, Masud ,45, Ajgor Ali, 70, Labu Akter ,27, his wife Mukti ,19 , Saiful Islam ,45, and driver of easy-bike Rafiq, 45, police said.
District Superintendent of Police Md Yousuf Ali told BSS that the accident occurred when a passenger bus collided head-on with the easy-bike (a battery-run three-wheeler) at 1.30pm, leaving five persons dead on the spot. Two other people who suffered injuries in the crash were rushed to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital where on-duty doctor declared them dead. Police seized the bus but its driver and helper fled the spot.
