Padma signs deal with ‘Shift’

Shift Financial Services Limited has launched its operation in Bangladesh in an effort to remit money from the United Kingdom safely and smoothly,  a statement said Sunday.

 Shift rolled out their financial services in association with the Padma Bank Limited, a fourth generation commercial bank, which offers most modern banking facilities through its 57 branches.

 The launching of Shift services will enable Bangladeshi migrants living and working in the Middle East, Europe and the United States to remit their hard-earned foreign currency back home in the quickest possibly time.  Shift is a world famous money transfer company having operations in 1lac 50thousand locations in 90 countries across the globe.  Top officials of Shift and Padma Bank signed an agreement on Saturday, which would allow Padma Bank to transfer money to clients in Bangladesh after it is remitted from any Shift branch in the world.

 Padma Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Ehsan Khasru was the chief guest at the signing ceremony and penned the agreement on behalf of the Bank.

 Mohammad Fouzie Mahrat, a director of Shift, signed the deal for the global money exchanger.

 Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Khasru said Padma has signed an array of such agreements with some of the top global money exchangers in order to revolutionize remittance transfer services in the country.

 “At Padma we are bound by our duty to ensure easy, quick and smooth transfer of our migrants’ hard-earned foreign exchanges back home. Already we have launched a series of new services to facilitate the remitters,” Mr. Khasru said.

Deputy managing directors of the bank Muhammad Ali Zaryab and Md. Shahadat Hossain, head of recovery Sabirul Islam Choudhury, CFO Md. Shoriful Islam, head of remittance Masud Rana and a number of branch managers were also present on the occasion.
