Over 9 lakh receive 2nd dose of Covid vaccine

A total of 9 lakh 30 thousand 151 people have been vaccinated so far since the start of giving the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine across the country.

One lakh 96 thousand 976 people were vaccinated on Thursday. Of them, 10,572 people have been given the first dose. So far, 56 lakh 8 thousand 885 people have taken the first dose of the vaccine.

The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine Covishield is being given in Bangladesh, in two doses. According to the Department of Health, on Thursday 66,17,036 people have so far received both doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

Seventy lakh 88 thousand 469 people have registered for vaccination till 5.30 pm on Thursday.

Oculation of the second dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine, developed at the Serum Institute of India, began on April 6.

SMS for second dose vaccination has started from the morning of April 5. According to the date given in the SMS, the second dose vaccine has to be taken from the previous vaccination center.

According to the Department of Health, 29,324 people received the second dose at 48 vaccination centers in Dhaka on Thursday while 2172 took the first dose on the same day.

The highest number of 83,041 people received second dose vaccination in Dhaka division. On this day, 3819 people got the first dose of vaccine in Dhaka division.

Besides, 9,696 people in Mymensingh, 38,614 people in Chottogram, 22,091 people in Rajshahi, 17,183 people in Rangpur, 24,357 people in Khulna, 8,173 people in Barisal and 13,821 people in Sylhet division have taken the second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
