The government has a plan to register all the online news portals as soon as possible with an aim to check the fake news publications on the online media.“The schedule timeframe for applying registration for the online portals was June 30, this year and it has been extended to July 15,” said State Minister for Information Murad Hasan on behalf of Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud replying to a supplement question in the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday afternoon, reports BSS.Replying to an allegation that a section of online news portals are deliberately publishing some ‘confusing’ news on the news portals, the state minister said “we have taken all out preparation to bring all the online news portals under registration.” After receiving the applications, we will examine and scrutinize all those applications for providing them online registration, he added.
