One person was killed and three others injured in a village clash in Jhenidah Sadar upazila on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Sabuj Mia, 38, of Charmuraridah village.
Jhenadiah Sadar police station officer in-charge (OC) Main Uddin said, a goat of Abdul Majid had damaged some standing crops at the cropland of Sabuj Mia in the noon. Both Abdul Majid and Sabuj Mia were locked in quarrel which was compromised in an arbitration in the village.
But both the groups were locked in clash leaving Sabuj Mia and three others injured. They were rushed to Jhenidah sadar hospital where Sabuj Mia succumbed to his injuries there. He said the body was sent to Jhenidah sadar hospital morgue for post mortem examination. Additional policemen were deployed in the area to avoid further tense. They were preparing to file a case in this connection, OC said.
