One held with 659 Yaba tablets in Kurigram

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested a presumed drug trader with 659 pieces of Yaba tablets from village Dakshin Ramkhana in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district on Wednesday.

"On a tip off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialized Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 conducted a raid there and arrested him with the Yaba tablets and a mobile phone set from the spot," a press release said on Thursday.

The detainee was identified as Md. Anarul Haque alias Angur, 25, son of Md.

Lokman Ali of village Paschim Ramkhana (Nagraj) in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district.

During preliminary interrogation, the detainee admitted that he had been involved in trading drugs in connivance with his other cohorts for a long time.

 "After filing a case in this connection against the arrested person, the elite force handed them over to Nageshwari police station in Kurigram," the release added.
