A Narayanganj court on Tuesday gave death penalty to the lone accused of Alif murder case Ahidul Islam, reports BSS.
Alif, a four year child of Alamgir Hossian, a Saudi expatriate of Jallarpar area of the city, was killed on August 16, 2018. District and Session Judge Anisur Rahman announced the verdict in presence of the convicted person and parents of Alif, court sources said. Convicted Ahidul is the son of Md. Maksud of Charahsan village of Charjabbar thana of Noakhali district.
According to the prosecution Ahidul, a neighbor of Alif called for the child by showing the temptation of chocolate when he was playing in the courtyard of his house.
Then, he killed the child and concealed the body in the mess of concretes in a polythene bag in his house.
Alif’s mother Salma Begum expressed satisfaction over the verdict and called for immediate execution of his son’s killer.
