One death, 214 Covid cases in 24 hours

Bangladesh reported one death and 214 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours till 8am Thursday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The positivity rate was recorded at 4.45 percent after testing 4,806 samples across the country. 

The country reported one death and 198 new Covid cases in the previous day.

The virus has killed 29,310 people and infected 20,08,282 so far, according to the statement.

The recovery count increase to 19,50,037 after another 497 patients were discharged from the dedicated hospitals during the past one day.

From the beginning of the pandemic, 1.46 percent died while 97.10 percent Covid-19 patients recovered among the infected people, according to the DGHS data.

Among the 29,310 fatalities, 12,895 occurred in Dhaka division, 5,888 in Chattogram, 2,152 in Rajshahi, 3,731 in Khulna, 988 in Barishal, 1,339 in Sylhet, 1,423 in Rangpur and 894 in Mymensingh divisions.
