One dead as pvt storehouse catches fire in Ctg

A young man was burned to death as a fire broke out at a private shipping storehouse in Patenga area of the port city on early Thursday. The victim was identified as Md Jabed, 18, son of Abdul Latif, hailing from Nangalkot upazila, Cumilla. The fire broke out at the office, owned by Md Aziz in Katghor area around 2:45am, said Jasimuddin, assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service adding that huge flammable substances (octane) were kept in the storehouse.

On information, two firefighting units from Patenga fire station rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one hour of efforts. Later, they recovered the charred body of Jabed. However, it was not clear yet what caused the fire.
