The number of dengue patients hospitalised in the country has exceeded 16,000 on Friday.
In the last 24 hours until Friday morning, 240 people have been admitted to the hospital due to dengue infection. But no one died again.
The regular dengue report of the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Department of Health has disclosed the situation across the country on the day.
It is said that among the new 240 dengue cases, 150 are residents of Dhaka. 90 people were admitted to hospital outside Dhaka. In total, the number of dengue patients admitted to hospitals of the country has reached 1,916. Among them, 1,448 people are admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and 468 people to hospitals outside Dhaka.
From January 1 of this year to September 30, 16,092 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue. Among them, 14,120 people have recovered and left the hospital.
A total of 55 people have so far died of dengue in the country. On September 6, five people died of dengue. This is the highest number of deaths in a single day this year.
Incidentally, in 2016, dengue was detected in 6060 people across the country. Among them, 6,023 people were identified in Dhaka, 37 people were identified outside Dhaka. In 2017, dengue was detected in 2,885 people across the country. Among them, 2,769 people were identified in Dhaka, 116 people were identified outside Dhaka. In 2018, 10,162 people were diagnosed with dengue throughout the country. Among them, 10,148 people were identified in Dhaka, 14 people were identified outside Dhaka.
Then in 2019, dengue was detected in 101,354 people across the country. Among them, 51,810 people were identified in Dhaka, 49,544 people were identified outside Dhaka. In 2020, infections again declined. During the year, 1,405 people were diagnosed with dengue throughout the country. Among them, 1,224 people were identified in Dhaka, 181 people were identified outside Dhaka.
In 2021, the dengue outbreak increased again. During the year, 28,425 people were diagnosed with dengue throughout the country. Among them, 23,613 people were identified in Dhaka, 4,812 people were identified outside Dhaka.
