‘No sanction can hinder Bangladesh’s development’

Awami League Presidium Member and Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque has said his party cannot be stopped from developing Bangladesh by any sanctions.

He said that while addressing as the chief guest in the Free Medical Camp at Madhupur Rani Bhabani Model High School Grounds at Tangail on Friday afternoon.

 “Various foreign newspapers and magazines say that Bangladesh is invincible. We will develop further through the proposed budget [for the fiscal year 2023-24],” he added.

The minister said: “Leaders and activists of the BNP have been saying for the last 14 years that it is a luxury budget, an unrealistic budget, a budget based on imagination.”

Addressing the opposition party, the agriculture minister said: “This budget is realistic. We have been successful in the past and we will be successful in formulating and implementing this budget in the coming days as well.”

“We have increased the revenue of Bangladesh nine times. It will further increase when this budget is enacted,” he added.

He said: “In this year's budget, we have given the highest importance to agriculture. Although not free, we are providing various agricultural machinery, combine harvesters, with a lot of benefits. This budget has been given utmost importance to improve the quality of life of the people of rural Bangladesh.”    

The Agriculture Minister said that BNP leaders and supporters have been saying for the last 14 years that it is a luxury budget, an unrealistic budget, a budget based on imagination. If the budget was based on imagination, the national income would not have been less than five lakh which is four lakh eighty four thousand crore and the national income would not reach 44 lakh taka. This is the proof that every year we have budgeted with the aim of making Smart Bangladesh and modern Bangladesh. 

The Minister of Agriculture addressed the opposition party with high criticism. Md. Abdur Razzak said, opposition party told the budget is high luxury and Sheikh Hasina is high luxury. She wants to improve the lives of people of Bangladesh. We want to confirm this budget is realistic. We have been successful in the past. We will be successful in formulating and implementing this budget in the coming days as well. Earlier, the total income of Bangladesh was 4 lakhs. It has increased to 44 lakhs. Next year it will be even more. We have increased the income of Bangladesh nine times. This will further increase when this budget will be enacted.

Under the chair of Shamima Yasmin, Upazila Executive Officer of Madhupur, Siddique Hossain Khan, (Municipal Mayor), Khandkar Shafi Uddin Mon i(President, Upazila Awami League), Masud Parvez (former Municipal Mayor) and others were present.

In the free medical camp, 100 doctors providedmedical support and services to about 10 thousands patients throughout the day.
