Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan Papon said that no players will be forced to visit Pakistan if the government gives its clearance to send the team there for a bilateral series, reports BSS.

The Bangladesh national team is scheduled to visit Pakistan in February next for two-match Test and three-match T20 series but the BCB is yet to get the nod from the government.

An aged level team of male team and Bangladesh national women’s team earlier visited Pakistan after getting the clearance from the government.

The BCB boss said a decision on the national male team’s Pakistan tour will be made within four or five days after which they would take the next course of action.

“Earlier we have sent two teams-an aged level male team and Women’s team with the permission from the government. But we are yet to get the clearance for the male team’s tour in Pakistan,” Papon said here today.

“If it is a matter of security, the security should be same for all regardless of the aged level team or national team. However I think a decision in this regard will be made within four or five days.”

Papon said still there will be lot of issues which should be fixed even if they get the clearance from the government.

“The most important issue is to whether the player wants to visit in Pakistan and there are other issues along with that,” the BCB chief informed.

He said that the BCB would take the opinion of every player about the tour in Pakistan if they get the clearance from the government about the tour.

“We have to talk to the players to take their opinion about the tour. If they want, they may go and if they don’t want, they may skip the tour. We will not force anyone to tour in Pakistan.”

If most of the players don’t want to tour in Bangladesh, in that case the BCB would have to send an alternative team. Papon said everything will depend on the current situations.

“Everything depend on the present circumstances. Whether we will send an alternative team is a matter of discussion.”
