The SAAF Football winners were brought in VIP status from Kathmandu.

There is no opportunity to touch the luggage of the plane. If anyone is found guilty of such charges, maximum punishment will be imposed against him/her.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md. Mahbub Ali said these things in response to questions from journalists after the gala award ceremony organized by Bangladesh Monitor at a hotel in the capital on Friday.

Mahbub Ali said, “Maybe you all have received a press release from Biman Bangladesh Airlines. The Executive Director of Biman was here. I also spoke to him. The flight from Kathmandu was a Boeing 737. From Kathmandu it was flown in with VIP status. But the 737 was in the boarding bay. It is brought to the boarding bridge. Their baggage was also fetched with VIP status and BAFUF people received the baggage. Highest consideration is given to them.”

He said that the people of the country were happy to receive them. We are also happy with all the countrymen. But the allegation which has risen was not true. No incident happened. There is CCTV footage, if you feel necessary we can watch the footage together.

When asked if he knew anything about the allegations of harassment of women pilots on the plane, he said, “Definitely these allegations will be taken seriously. If any truth is found, maximum punishment will be ensured. We do not want women to be subjected to such harassment at any stage.”

The State Minister has also said, “Whether in Nepal or any destination, we may lack some capacity and infrastructure at present. That’s why we may not be able to provide full service. We are doing our utmost to ensure that there is no passenger harassment at the airport.”
