Netrakona Municipality announced the proposed budget of Tk 140 crores 47 lakh, 98 thousand 421.60 for FY 2020-2021 at a press conference held at the Municipality auditorium on Tuesday noon.
Alhaj Nazrul Islam khan, Mayor of Netrakona Municipality read out the budget during the press conference. He stressed on building a modern town with well-planned road communication network which would be traffic-Jam free.
In Netrakona town, all infrastructural development works of roads, bridges, culverts, housing and educational institutions, sewerage system, water and electricity supply lines will be carried out under a long-term master plane, he added.
Alhaj Nazrul Islam khan in his speech said it is a development oriented budget aiming at providing better civic facilities to the peoples of the town. No new tax has been imposed in the budget this year but Netrakona municipality is determined to materialize the arrears, he added.
After announcing the budget, Alhaj Nazrul Islam khan answered different questions asked by different professionals and local journalists. The Mayor categorically mentioned that no irregularities will be tolerated in the construction work of the roads and others infrastructures.
He asked all concern, how to ensure the best quality with maximum accountability and transparency.
