Navy works to combat virus in coastal areas

Bangladesh Navy is working in the coastal areas of the country to fight the coronavirus infection.  In addition to conducting awareness programmes, members of the Navy are providing relief assistance to the poor. Naval forces are working at Maheshkhali, Kutubdia, Teknaf and Saint Martin Island in Cox's Bazar.

Along with the public representatives, the Navy members are distributing leaflets, conducting miking to aware people in various areas of Maheshkhali. They are also spraying disinfectant in the upazila and distributing food items among the poor maintaining social distance.

Food items were distributed among poor people at Boro Deul Math in Maheshkhali upazila on Friday. Navy’s Maheshkhali Contingent Commander Lieutenant Commander Asaduzzaman, Maheshkhali Upazila Chairman Sharif Badsha, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md. Jamirul Islam and AC (Land) Shuchingmoy Marma were present at the time, among others. 

Local public representatives said area-based cooperation would continue as directed by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Navy members said that they will continue to cooperate with the people in the wake of the emergency situation. Until the overall situation in the country improves, they urged everyone to stay safely at home.
