Navy chief leaves for New York

Navy chief Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury left Dhaka for New York on Wednesday on a 4-day official visit to the United Nations (UN) Headquarters.
Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Operation) Rear Admiral M Makbul Hossain and Naval Administrative Authority Dhaka Commodore M Musa saw the naval chief off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, said an ISPR press release on Friday. Aurangzeb would call on UN Headquarters’ Military Adviser and Assistant Secretary-General Lieutenant General Carlos H. Loitey and the Permanent Representative (PR) of Bangladesh, Ambassador Masud Bin Momen, it added.
He also would pay a courtesy call on the UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix and Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support Atul Khare and hold discussions on issues related to naval activities in the mission areas and other concerned matters.
