Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin expressed profound shock at the death of veteran politician and parliament member Moinuddin Khan Badal on Thursday. In a condolence message, the mayor recalled the outstanding contributions of Badal to the great Liberation War in 1971. The nation has lost an honest, dedicated and courageous leader and his death is an irreparable loss to the country’s politics, he said. The mayor prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the members of the bereaved family. Badal, executive president of a faction of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) passed away at a hospital in Bangalore in India this morning at the age of 67. An incumbent lawmaker Badal was elected Member of Parliament from Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) from Chattagram-8 constituency several terms as Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal candidate.
