The public gathering called in protest by a local platform named Sarbadoliya Muslim Oikya Parishad (All-Party Muslim Unity Council) over Sunday's clash between police & locals at Bhola’s Borhanuddin has been postponed. The rally was scheduled to be held on Monday morning at Bhola Government School premises.

However, the organisers have called off the rally due to lack of proper permission. Mawlana Mizanur Rahaman, one of the leaders of the organization has confirmed this matter to Bangla Tribune and said they will call a media briefing to announce their next program at Bhola Press Club on Monday morning.

Earlier on Sunday (Oct 20), a group of people brought out a procession in Borhanuddin Bazar protesting a Facebook post “hurting religious sensitivities” by a Hindu man, which turned into a massive clash with police. The clashes left four people dead and over a hundred people injured. At least four platoons of BGB were deployed to quell the situation.

A local platform named Sarbadoliya Muslim Oikya Parishad (All-Party Muslim Unity Council) staged a protest against the morning incident in front of Bhola Press Club on Sunday afternoon, where they placed six demands, including capital punishment for the Hindu youth, handover of the deceased to their families without autopsies, and payment for the treatment of the wounded by the government. They also announced a rally in the premises of Bhola Government High School in Bhola Sadar upazila today to protest Sunday’s incident.
