Bangladesh most dependable batsman Mushfiqur Rahim may put his bat for auction to raise fund for the coronavirus pandemic, reports agencies. The speculation was raised after his manager Barshan Kabir posted an SS bat on his Facebook page and hinted that it might be put up for auction.

According to sources the bat that was displayed on Barshan’s Facebook page was none other than the one through which Mushfiqur scored his maiden double hundred against Sri Lanka at Galle in 2013.

A source close to the development said that Mushfiqur is yet to take a firm decision about putting his bat into auction and added that lack of platform also is one of the reasons behind is double-mindedness with the whole affair.

This bat hold  special significance in Bangladesh Cricket history as from this willow  Mushfiqur scored his first double hundred for Bangladesh  in Sri Lanka and this was also the first double hundred score by any Bangladeshi batsman as well/

Mushfiqur may opt for an online auction for this bat but how far that is feasible need to be seen as unlike other countries online auction is not very popular in Bangladesh. Jos Butler of England has earlier auctioned his 2019 World Cup final jersey to raise funds to fight COVID-19 through online auction.
