National Film Award winning actor Mousumi has signed yet another Liberation War-based film of her career, titled ‘Arjan 71’. The film will be directed by Mirza Sakhawat Hossain.

Highlighting the heroic tale of Bangladesh Police, the film will depict the story of struggling life of a police officer’s wife during the country’s Liberation War in 1971.

Mousumi will be seen playing the central character named Firoza, while versatile actor Shatabdi Wadud will appear as her husband.

The actor has recently signed on the dotted line for working in the film. Besides, the film’s Shubho Mahurat (inaugural ceremony) will take place on coming Tuesday at The Bangladesh Film Development Corporation in the capital.

Having acted in Liberation War-based film before, Mousumi informed that the film’s plot is quite unique.

“I earlier worked in a Liberation War-based film, but the story line of this film is entirely different. The film will illustrate the special contribution of Bangladesh Police during the great fight for freedom,” said Mousumi about the film.

‘Through the character which I would play, struggling life of a police officer’s wife will be portrayed. I am really proud to be part of the film based on such a challenging story”, she added.

The film would be made taking necessary permission from the Bangladesh Police, the director of ‘Arjan 71’ informed.
