A report published in this daily says that the number of legal motorcycles in Dhaka has increased to over five lakh in 10 years. The growth rate is 268 percent. Of these, the number of legal motorcycles in Dhaka has increased by 3 lakh 35 thousand 844 in the last four years. This is quite astonishing and disconcerting at the same time. The skyrocketing of motorcycle numbers in the capital shows that there is a lack of control over the number of registration of motorbikes and the sale of two-wheelers in the country.
