Mosque based teaching stressed in Manikganj

Speakers at a discussion meeting in Manikganj on Wednesday observed that only the law cannot combat the corruption in the society without the importance of moral and religious teaching, reports BSS.

“The Imams of mosques and teachers can play a vital role to build a corruption free society with their proper teaching,” they said .

The speakers said this in a view exchanging meeting with the teachers and caretakers of mosque based child and mass education programme of Bangladesh Islamic Foundation (BIF) held at its Deputy Director’s hall room.

Deputy Commissioner, Manikganj S M Ferdous attended it as chief guest While Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen), Mohammad Moniruzzaman Mohammad Abdul Monnaf Khan, former District Education Officer, Mufti Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Imam of Collectorate Mosque Maulana Ashraful Islam, among others, took part in the discussion meeting .

The Deputy Commissioner in his speech said the teachers should perform their duties with utmost honesty and sincerity and urged the imams and teachers to motivate the mass people against drug, militancy, child marriage, and dowry and women repression.

The speakers said the Imams of mosques can motivate the people easily through their speech in mosques particularly in Jummah prayers as mass people believe in their sermons and guide line. BIF, Deputy Director
