Momotaz’s new music video released

A new music video featuring the prominent singer was released today. The song titled Phuler Naam’e Naam, sung by Momotaz Begom, MP is intended to raise awareness against early marriage of girls in Bangladesh. Besides singing the song, she also appeared in the music video which depicted the adverse effects of the social issue.

The announcement was made on Thursday in a Press Conference held at the Zahur Hossain Chowdhury Hall of the National Press Club, Dhaka. To inaugurate the official release of the music video, the iconic singer and Member of Parliament was present at the event, alongside other distinguished guests.

Regarding the song, she said, “I have released thousands of songs in my lifetime, but it is songs like these that matter, because they are about real issues. The media needs to help spread these messages across Bangladesh so that people understand and learn from it.” She further spoke about the reality of millions of girls in facing the harsh consequences of child marriage, and urged the people of Bangladesh to change their mindset and walk towards equality.

The music video can be viewed on YouTube and will also be broadcasted on national and private television and radio channels. The initiative for the music video was taken by IMAGE Plus project funded by The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
