A mobile court has fined one wholesaler, with an amount of Taka 20 thousand, for selling onions at inflated prices at Khatunganj market in Chittagong, reports BSS.

The court, led by Executive Magistrate Towhidul Islam, conducted the drive at Mahin Enterprises of Khatunganj on Wednesday and found evidence of price inflation. “Onions imported from Egypt and China were purchased at Tk40-45 per kg. However, the same onions were being sold at a much higher price,” the magistrate said.
