A child was killed in a road accident in front of Dhaka Commerce College in city’s Mirpur area on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Hafez, 8, is the son of Md Hafiz Uddin hailed from city’s Mirpur Jhilpar slum area, reports BSS.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Shah Ali police station Salahuddin Miah said the accident occurred in the aforesaid area around 10:15am as a speedy covered van of Milk Vita Company hit Hafez while he was crossing the road. He died on the spot, he added.
The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College (ShSMC) for an autopsy. Police seized the van, however, the driver managed to flee from the spot. The process of filling a case is underway.
