Mild heat wave sweeps over Sylhet, Dinajpur

Mild heat wave is sweeping over Sylhet and Dinajpur regions and it may abate, says a met office release.

It also said light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi , Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country, reports BSS. 

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. The low pressure area over Madhya Pradesh merged with monsoon axis. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajshthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal thence Northeastwards to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. 

One of its associated trough extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 37.4 degrees Celsius at Sylhet and minimum temperature on Friday 25.2 degrees Celsius at Cox’s Bazar.

Maximum rainfall was recorded 35millimeters (mm) at Khepupara.

The sun sets at 6.37 pm on Friday and rises at 5.31 am today in the capital.
