Medical waste management stressed for green Rangpur city

Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa on Sunday laid emphasis on timely management and disposal of medical waste to prevent spread of many communicable diseases for building an eco-friendly, clean and green Rangpur city, reports BSS.

He made the observation at a function held at City Bhaban for launching of the Medical Waste Management program in the city jointly by Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) PRISM Bangladesh Foundation. Member-secretary of Medical Waste Management Committee of RpCC and its Secretary Md. Rashedul Haque presided over function. Executive Director of PRISM Bangladesh Foundation Khondker Anisur Rahman delivered welcome speech narrating importance of proper medical waste management for sound public health and better environment.

Director of Rangpur Medical College Hospital Dr Sultan Ahmed, Assistant Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md. Sirajul Islam, Divisional Director of the Department of Environment Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Medical Officer of RpCC Dr Kamruzzaman Ibne Taz, General Secretary of Rangpur District Private Clinic Owners’ Association Shamsur Rahman Koyel, among others, addressed.
