Matia distributes iron benches at Sherpur schools

Awami League Presidium Member and former Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, distributed 956 pairs of iron benches at Nalitabari Upazila, Sherpur.

956 pairs of iron benches worth Taka 37 lakhs have been allocated to 180 primary schools, lower secondary, secondary and madrasas of the upazila. Matia Chowdhury distributed the benches on yesterday at an open stage among various government and private educational institutions.

Matia Chowdhury said, “Sheikh Hasina has a magic wand and that is pure patriotism and love for the people of the country.

Awami league comes to power to build the country and others to rob it.  Our Prime minister’s dream is to sort the country and so she is among the top ten leaders in the world. Only when Awami League comes in power, children from poor families get the opportunity to study. Sheikh Hasina’s daughter, Saima Wazed Putul, has been elected Chairperson of the International Jury Board of UNESCO for Digital Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.”

She also said, in 1996 Awami League came to power with a shortage of food of 40 million tonne. Later from 2000 the country has been self sufficient in supplying foods.

Nalitabari upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Md Arifur Rahman presided over the programme. SP Jahangir Alam of circle A of Nalitabari, Awami League senior president Addus Sobur Mia, Haji Mosharrof Hosain, Freedom fighter Abdul Halim Ukil and other teachers and delegates from different schhol and other educational institutions were also present in the programme.
