Many moles of 33,000 volt electricity scattered on road in Mirzapur

Due to the strong pressure of the flood water, 20-25 poles of the 33,000 voltage power line were broken and scattered on the road, leaving the locals in distress. Extreme panic has appeared among them. 

The communication system was cut off due to the collapse of the poles. The incident took place on Warshi-Balia-Dhamrai road in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail. Visiting different areas of this road on Saturday, it was seen that the broken electricity poles were scattered on the road.

Tangail Palli Bidyut Samiti-1, Mirzapur zonal office sources said on Saturday that the rural division was constructing a new 33,000-volt rural power line on the Warshi-Balia-Dhamrai road to ensure uninterrupted power supply. 

The construction of the whole line is not over yet. Once the construction of the line is completed, there will be no more load shedding in Mirzapur Upazila.

Besides, if electricity is supplied from Dhamrai on this line, Bhatgram substation will be fully operational. Meanwhile, 20-25 poles of the 33,000- volt power line built along the Warsaw-Balia road have collapsed due to the flood waters of the last one and a half months. It is learned that huge amount of money has been lost due to the collapse of electricity poles.

When contacted, Tangail Palli Bidyut Samiti-1, Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Mirzapur Zonal Office Md Morshedul Islam said that the floodwaters had caused extensive damage after the poles of the newly constructed power line on the Warshi-Balia-Dhamrai road collapsed. 

The matter has been reported to the higher authorities of the power department. The new line will be rebuilt quickly when the floodwaters recede.
