A man was shot dead by his own younger brother on Wednesday afternoon due to a family feud at Kagajpukur village in Benapole Port police station.
Police arrested killer Amjad Hossain 40 with a foreign made Pistol and three rounds bullets. The deceased was identified as Russel Hossain (45) son of Edris Ali of the Village.
Officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station Mamun Khan said that a family feud broke out between the elder brother Russel Hossain and Amjad Hossain around noon on Wednesday.
At one stage, his younger brother Amjad Hossain took out a pistol from the house and shot at his elder brother Russel who fell on the ground. He later died on the way to the hospital.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy. While the killer was fleeing, the police conducted a raid and arrested him from a nearby village Goyra with 1 foreign made pistol, 3 rounds of bullets and a knife.
A case has been registered with Benapole Port Police Station in this regard.
