A man has been arrested from Ukiara village under Sadar Police Station in Manikganj district for reportedly kidnapping a child in an attempt to smuggle.
The arrested is Marfat Ali, a resident in the village.
According to police, the victim’s father Akkas Ali, a resident of Rajbari district, used to live in a rented house in Gabtali area in Dhaka. He developed a friendship with one Marfat Ali during his works. Later, Akkas along with his family members started living in the rented house of his friend.
On January27, Akkas had a quarrel with his wife before he went out for his works.
Later, when he returned to his house he found his wife, son Asif and daughter Rasheda were missing.
The woman returned to her house after three days and told her husband that Marfat Ali took them to Manikganj after promising them for a visit. But, he tricked them and kidnapped the boy.
Sadar Poilce Station OC Abdur Rouf said police arrested Marfat Ali based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s father.
He said they have rescued the child and a case has been filed in this regard.
