Malaysia’s Foreign Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein has written to his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK Abdul Momen and assured him of giving necessary assistance to the expatriates.
A large number of Bangladeshis is working in the Southeast Asian country. Like in other countries, expatriates also became jobless in Malaysia due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Malaysian minister in the letter said that they are providing necessary assistance to Bangladeshi citizens, the foreign ministry said on Sunday.
The Malaysian government is working with the Bangladesh embassy in Kuala Lumpur in this regard, according to a letter.
He urged Bangladesh to withdraw the export ban on Hydroxychloroquine tablet while stressing working together to stem the virus spread.
The minister also thanked Dr Momen for his cooperation to take back Malaysian citizens from Bangladesh.
