Madrasa student found dead in Bagerhat, step-mother held

Police recovered the body of a madrasa student beside a toilet at Bodlibhanga Village in Morelganj Upazila on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Siam Mollah, 6, son of Miraz Mollah of Bodlibhanga Village .

Officer-In-Charge of Morelganj Police Station K M Azizul Islam said Siam, who used to live with his step-mother, remained missing since Sunday evening.

Police detained his step-mother Ferdousi on suspicion after interrogating her.

Later, according to her confessional statement, police recovered the body digging soil beside the toilet of the house.

Ferdousi confessed that she strangled the boy as per her previous plan and buried the body under soil, said the OC.
