Local tobacco companies on Saturday demanded speedy implementation of market competition law and preservation of low-tier cigarette manufacturing for local companies.
Nazmun Nahar lucky, General Secretary of Association of Locally Owned Cigarette Manufacturers in a press conference yesterday at a hotel in the capital raised the demand.
“Bangladesh earned remarkable domestic revenue from the country's locally manufactured cigarette sector. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formed different policies including special incentives to boost local industries,” Nazmun Nahar lucky said at the press conference.
