Liton’s wife injured in gas cylinder blast

Bangladesh batsman Liton Das’ wife, Devasri Biswas Sanchita, has been injured in a major gas cylinder blast at her residence. On Friday, March 27, she escaped a major mishap while she was making tea, report agencies. Sources from her family has revealed that there was a hole in the cylinder that caused the explosion. In order to save her face, her hands were also burnt to some extent.

Moreover, her hair managed to catch fire. Due to the massive explosion, a part of the cabinet in the kitchen also collapsed on Sanchita. Though she suffered some deep scars on her body, it could well be said that the situation could have been much worse. In the meantime, Sanchita has recovered to some extent and on March 29, she shared an update to describe the  incident.

 “I cannot express my feelings. And that’s not easy for me by any means. I was very much near to death. If I didn’t cover my face with my hands, maybe the whole face would have burnt. Now I have to cut my hair (due to burns). It’s annoying, but I know that I will recover.

I do not know what would have happened if there had been a fire on my face. So, everyone be careful,” Sanchita was quoted as saying in cricket97.com.

Liton and Sanchita tied the knots after the 2019 World Cup and the former missed the Sri Lanka tour of fulfil his personal commitments. Prior to that, the duo got engaged in April before Das joined the Bangladesh team for the World Cup.
