Light to moderate rain likely

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places, reports BSS. 

Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, said a met office release.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Horiyana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh as one of its associated trough extends upto North Bay.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay. Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius jointly at Ishwardi and Chuadanga and the minimum temperature on Friday 24.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Sandwip and Sitakunda.

The maximum rainfall for the 24 hours till 6:00 am on Friday was recorded 164millimeters (mm) at Sitakunda. The sun sets at 5.51 pm on Friday and rises at 5.49 am today (Saturday) in the capital.
