Nowadays most of the people around the world know about BLACKPINK. With total of winning 79 awards within five years they made their fame with their incredible talent.

BLACKPINK is composed by four members named Jisoo, Jenny, Rosé, and Lisa. Since their debut in 8th August 2016 with “Boombayah”, they made a splendid appearance as a 'monster rookie' by sweeping the number one spot on all domestic music charts within only 4 hours. Now, a bit more than four years have passed, and they have risen to the ranks of world stars with outstanding skills and performances, transcending the genre of 'K-pop'. All four members have their own distinct talents in vocal, dance, rap, and musicality, yet they form a perfect chemistry with each other. They are as glamorous as 'Pink' but they don’t lose the intensity of 'Black'.

BLACKPINK is now the second most subscribed artist after Justin Bieber with 62.3 million subscribers. Outnumbering musicians like Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande and more were suppressed by BLACKPINK. Around 28 videos of their videos are above 100 million views which includes their dance practice videos too. Debut song “Boombayah”, also hit songs like “Kill This Love” and “Ddu-du Ddu-du” already got more than billion views, stunning right?

On August 3rd, BLACKPINK plans to release their first Japanese full-length album by the name “The Album-JP Ver”. This album will include a total of 8 songs including 4 new songs in Japanese. Their smash hit songs "Lovesick Girls", "How You Like That", "Pretty Savage" and "You Never Know" will be newly recorded as Japanese versions and "Ice Cream (Ft. Selena Gomez)", "Bet You Wanna (Ft. Cardi B)", “Love to Hate Me” and lastly “Crazy over You” will be in the original versions.

BLACKPINK’s fifth anniversary is approximately two months away and their agency YG Entertainment has already started to prepare for it. According to them, they are going to release a movie titled “BLACKPINK: The Movie” as a gift to Blinks (fans). The movie will premiere in August matching BLACKPINK’s debut anniversary in August 8 through CGV nationwide (South Korea). ‘BLACKPINK THE MOVIE’ will showcase the group’s memorable performances and have BLINKs revisit the memories of their five years in the industry, together.

Not only as BLACKPINK but all of the four members are trying their best on their individual paths too. Jennie, the group’s rapper started shining solo in 2018 by her song “Solo”. Then earlier this year Rose released her album “R”, which includes two songs named “On the ground” and “Gone”. It was sold over 440,000 copies in its first week of release. Unlike the other members, Jisoo is perusing her second career with acting in the lead role of the upcoming Korean drama “Snowdrop”. And now, rumors are going around about Lisa debuting solo this July after a famous MC accidently teased about it in his show. Although Fans are not sure if it will really happen or not but they are truly excited for it. She will feature in the famous jewelry brand Bvlgari's new Campaign this June 24th and also feature in Vogue Thailand cover in July.

As ongoing tradition K-pop groups goes through disbandment when the contract ends, let’s keep counting how BLACKPINK hold on to breaking records after records.
