The bodies of two missing teenagers have been recovered from the Shitalakkha River in Narayanganj city. The fire and rescue service recovered two bodies at 11pm on Monday (August 10).

Among them, Nihad (18) is the son of local Nazimuddin Khan and nephew of Kamal Khan, president of Bondor Press Club. Another teenager, Jisan (15), is the son of Kazimuddin, a former secretary of Bondor Press Club.

The police said that a clash broke out between two local teenage gangs in the Ispahani Ghat area of the port around 4pm. At that time, Nihad and Jisan jumped into the winter in self-defense. The locals did not look for them as they thought they were both swimming in the river. However, as they did not return home at night, their relatives started searching for them and found out that they had jumped into the river in the clash.

Shortly after the incident, the fire service divers began searching the river at night. The bodies of both were recovered at 11:15 pm.

Officer-in-charge of Bondor Police Station Fakhruddin said that the fire service searched the river after receiving information that a college student and a schoolboy were missing in the water. The bodies of two people were recovered at night. In this case, legal action is being taken at Bondor police station.
