Bangladesh Krishak League distributed blankets among 500 cold-stricken poor farmers and distressed people of Pirganj upazila in Rangpur on Friday as a gift from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to mitigate their sufferings, reports BSS.
President of Bangladesh Krishak League Agriculturalist Shamir Chanda distributed the blankets in a function followed by attending an extended meeting of Pirganj upazila unit of Bangladesh Krishak League at Pirganj upazila parishad auditorium as the chief guest.
Pirganj upazila unit of Bangladesh Krishak League organised the events and distributed blankets marking the 49th Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Presided over by Convener of the council organising committee of Pirganj upazila unit of Bangladesh Krishak League Abdur Razzaque Miah, its Member-secretary Mamun Ur Rashid moderated the function.
Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Krishak League Agriculturalist Biswanath Sarker Bitu, its member Agriculturalist Lutful Bari Al Osmani, Vice-president of Rangpur district Awami League AKM Chhayadat Hossain Bakul, President of Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Krishak League Pran Krishna Goswami, President of Pirganj upazila AL Azizur Rahman Rang and its General Secretary and Pirganj municipal Mayor Tazimul Islam Shamim, among others, addressed it.
Earlier, the central and local leaders of Bangladesh Krishak League, AL and its associate bodies paid rich tribute to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s husband and renewed nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah by placing wreaths at his grave in village LaldigheeFatehpur and offering Fateha there in Pirganj upazila.
Later, Bangladesh Krishak League President Agriculturalist Shamir Chanda attended the extended meeting of Pirganj upazila of the organisation at the same venue as the chief guest.
