South Korea is going to hold a contest of its culture in Bangladesh virtually due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The South Korean embassy has been organising various cultural events to share multiple aspects of its culture such as music, film, food and sports with the people of Bangladesh.

The embassy said due to Covid-19 they cannot hold such programmes this year. But to retain interactions with the Bangladesh community, in particular those who love and have interest in the Korean culture, as well as to help people relieving stresses in the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the embassy, together with the BDK Family and KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association, is holding digital video contests on K-POP as well as on the Korean Cultural contents in the next few weeks.

Contest 1: Video Contest on Korean culture in Bangla language which means making video content introducing any aspect/subject of the Korean culture (such as attraction sights, music, food, historical figures, language) in Bangla language within a length of 3 to 5 minutes.

Contest 2: Video Contest on K-POP which means making video performance of K-POP song or dance in an individual or a group within a length of 3 to 5 minutes.

The video contents should be the resolution of HD  (1280x720) or better quality.

The deadline for submission is Sep 17 through emails: [email protected] and [email protected].

The results will be announced on Sep 23. One first place winner and two second place winners in respective contests will be nominated.

The awards include Samsung Galaxy phone, and Galaxy tab, among others.

The award ceremony will be held in September 2020, the embassy said with the hope that this event will be an “excellent opportunity” for cultural communion between the countries to enhance understanding of Korean culture and history among the people of Bangladesh.
