Koel Mallick is back from Italy and has started shooting for Arindam Sil’s ‘Mitin Mashi’.

“We had a great start to the shoot where Arindamda greeted the entire cast and crew. My first shot was the post-interval shot and then I had a shot at a coffee shop where my character is in deep thought. After the lunch break, we will shoot a scene where Mitin Mashi will go somewhere pretending to be someone else,” said Koel.

She also said, “There is so much of positivity in this unit and Arindamda is super cool on the sets.

This is yet another happy news for the audiences of Bengali cinema, the launch of the only female detective character in Bengali literature, a housewife-turned-detective, Suchitra Bhattacharya’s iconic character Mitin Mashi (Pragyaparamita Mukherjee).

The film will be based on the story ‘Hathe Matro Teenteh Din’. “After Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Shubho Mahurat’, I think my film will be the first one with a woman detective. This year during Durga Puja, we will gift the cinema lovers of Bengal with ‘Mitin Mashi’. Mitin is the representative of women’s empowerment. The first woman detective on Bangla cinema will be portrayed by Koel Mallick. Also, Vinay Pathak will make his debut in Bangla cinema with this project,” said Sil.

Music of the film, which will go on the floors from July and will be shot in Kolkata, is composed by Bickram Ghosh, Subhankar Bhar, the DoP, story and script by Padmanabha Dasgupta and Arindam Sil jointly. Subhrajit Dutta, Arunima Ghosh, Anirban Chakraborty and Riya Banik are also part of the cast.
