Martin Luther King has rightly said, ‘Next to the word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.’

Holding that in mind, Ustad Suman Ahmed Ranjan became one of the brightest stars in Kishoreganj's music culture. He was born in 1958 in Gaital Sridharkhaila Village in Kishoreganj district and died on 7 March in 2015 after suffering from liver cirrhosis. He was involved in the music for almost three decades. Sirajul Haque Angur, the former general secretary of the Shilpakala Academy, first appointed him as the lecturer of the Artist Pool. His relentless passion as a singer, composer and music director is unforgettable.

Ustad Suman Ahmed Ranjan is considered as an A grade composer and music director of Bangladesh Television, and he has constantly enriched Kishoreganj's music scene.

Son of Amir Hossain, a resident of Gaital, in Kishoreganj, Suman Ahmed Ranjan has pursued his training from Ustad Amar Chandrashil, Ustad Akhil Thakur, Ustad Paresh Bhattacharya, Manai Mia and Ustad Mithun De. He performed at Bangladesh radio since 1985/1986. His students, Dilshad Begum Pushpo received the national award for three times, Mojibur Rahman and Nadia Akhter Nupur received the national award.
