Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) on Monday started the sale of onion at Taka 35 per kg at five spots in the city instead of Tk 45, bringing more relief to common people, reports BSS.
“We initially started onion sale at Tk 45 per kg in open market on November 21 at five points in the city. But now we started onion sale at Tk 35 per kg, taking decision to reduce its price Tk 10 following monitoring the market situation,” said Khulna Regional Officer of TCB Md Rabiul Morshed.
Buyers can purchase onion at this price from TCB trucks at Tutpara area, in front of DC’s office, Bottala near New market, Khalishpur and Moylapota intersection, he said. The lower and middle class people of the city expressed their satisfaction for getting the onion in a comparatively very cheap price.
