Khulna DC seeks help to evict illegal establishments and prevent drug

Khulna District Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Helal Hossain sought help to evict illegal establishments at the bank of River Moyur and River Bhairab in Khulna.

He also sought all out cooperation to strengthen the ongoing drive to prevent drug. 

Khulna DC said this while speaking at a view exchange meeting with journalists including the editors and publishers of local newspapers of Khulna at his conference room on Tuesday.

In the meeting, DC Helal Hossain said, “Some 23 daily newspapers, 25 weekly newspapers, four fortnight, nine monthly and one tri-monthly newspapers have got declaration in Khulna, of those, some newspapers published irregularly. These occasional newspapers sometimes publish exaggerating and embarrassing news.”

He urged the journalists to become aware about social malfeasances including child marriage, drug addiction, eve-teasing and other crimes. He also said about different activities to prevent dengue in Khulna.  

About the eviction of illegal establishment at the river banks, he said, “The eviction drive will be started soon after determining the area by surveying.”

Among others, Deputy Director of Local Government of Khulna Israt Jahan, Additional District Commissioner Ziaur Rahman, and other distinguished journalists were also present.
