KAMPS runs screening, free consultation camp

Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society (KAMPS) has been running a 17-day campaign marking the World Diabetes Day-2022.

The non-profit voluntary organization has started screening for diabetes and kidney diseases at a very nominal cost along with free Doctor Consultation in a bid to contribute to preventing widespread kidney and diabetes related problems of the general people. 

The screening program is running at the premises of KAMPS head office, House no.-21, Road no-03, Block-B, Naboudoy Residential Area, Mohammadpur in the capital.

The screening program of KAMPS include lab tests of HbA1C, Serum Creatinine,urine test, BP, weight and height, eGFR etc. KAMPS will also provide a registration card to the patients so that they can avail more facilities from KAMPS in the future.

Passing comments in this regard, KAMPS Chairman, Prof Dr. M A Samad told that more than 80 lacs of people in Bangladesh are suffering from Diabetes while it is feared that by the year 2045 the number of diabetes patients will stand at 1 crore 50 lacs.  Prof. DR. MA Samad, a popular Nephrologist also the Head of the Department of Nephrology, Anwer Khan Modern Medical CollegeandHospital suggests maintaining a healthy lifestyle and food habit to stay aloof from Diabetes as well as from Kidney related diseases.
