Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Farzana Islam on Saturday expressed profound shock at the death of Al Mohaymin Siam, a second year student of Physics Department of the university, reports BSS.
Siam, a student of 48th batch of JU, drowned while bathing in the Korotoa river in Palashbari upazila of Gaibandha on Friday afternoon. In a condolence message, the VC said, “We have lost a meritorious student at premature death of Siam.” “His death is tragic for us as well as his family members,” she added.
The VC prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
